Thermoplastic Coating
- Thermoplastic is an environmentally safe co-polymer coating. No harmful chemicals are released during the manufacturing or the use of the product. That means: no VOCs, no TGIC, no plasticizers, no isocyanates, no halogens and no heavy metals. Nothing pollutes the air or is leeched into the ground.
- Thermoplastic is very resistant to fading, cracking, or peeling for the life of the furniture. It has been tested and monitored for many years in conditions ranging from the arctic to the tropics.
- Thermoplastic has exceptional adhesion to the steel substrate and additionally the coating is impermeable. This provides superior performance pertaining to UV sun exposure, salt-spray & pollution corrosion, and wind & sand abrasion.
- The electrostatic powder coat application of thermoplastic coatings results in a "dripless" finish. Unlike plastisol, the coating is wrapped uniformly on all sides of the tops and seats and has no drips on the back side.
- Thermoplastic is applied at a thickness of 30-40 mils. This allows maximum protection with the best possible surface. Surface appearance will be shiny and smooth. There will be no drip residue, surface cratering or orange peel.
- Thermoplastic can be easily repaired. Minor cuts are repaired by heating the affected area with an industrial heat gun. The thermoplastic will melt and rebond to itself and the steel substrate.
- The properties of thermoplastic also make spray painting difficult for vandals. Simply wipe the surface with a standard graffiti cleaner. No other plastic coating can be repaired so easily.
