Plastisol Coating
- Plastisol is a solution of PVC resin in a liquid plasticizer. A plasticizer is an additive to plastic resins that make them more flexible, workable, or improve their ability to stretch, or to be molded and thermally cured to hold a desired shape.
- Plastisol is a dip-coating (steel parts are heated, then dipped into a big tank of liquid plastisol) that provides protection to the metal frame; it rounds corners and is extremely durable. Applied at a thickness about 1/8” thick, plastisol covers welds and joints in the steel substrate.
- Plastisol coated furnishings come in a variety of styles and colors to give the consumer better choices when selecting their outdoor furnishings. Plastisol is resilient and scratch resistant, ensuring that furnishings look great for years.
- Plastisol coated furnishings provide a higher level of safety than most other types of commercial outdoor furniture. It keeps cool in the sun to provide safety especially for kids on the schoolyard and playground. The thickness and resilience of the coating provide cushion against impact by playing children.
- Plastisol coating adds durability and strength which is superior to furniture with powder coating. It resists scratches, chips and rust, even when exposed to extreme elements. Perfect for any high traffic area always exposed to the elements, including salty beaches and winter weather.
- A Fungicide additive is added to the plastisol composition to inhibit the occurrence of mold in shady locations.
- Ultra-Violet rays of the sun are constantly attacking the beauty of your new outdoor furniture. Plastisol has special UV protection chemicals to shield against the sun. As an additional guard against the sun, our plastisol is baked to a 90% gloss to reflect most of the light.
