What is Plastisol?

Plastisol is a molten liquid, PVC coating over steel - the toughest on the market. It is a solution of PVC resin in a liquid plasticizer. A plasticizer is an additive to plastic resins that make them more flexible, workable, or improve their ability to stretch, or to be molded and thermally cured to hold a desired shape. Plastisol is a dip-coating and is applied at a thickness about 1/8” thick. Heated steel tops and seats are dipped in molten PVC lava and then baked at 350˚F to harden the Plastisol. As the Plastisol coating cools, it permanently grips the steel substrate to create a durable yet resilient surface. Only American, heavy gauge steel is used to provide the best foundation for the Plastisol. Perfect for any high traffic area always exposed to the elements, including salty, sandy beaches and winter weather.

Safe in the sun - Plastisol has special UV protection chemicals to shield against the sun. In addition, the UV stabilized Plastisol is baked to a 90% gloss finish to reflect sunlight so the colors will last for years to come.

Safe in the shade- A Fungicide additive is added to the Plastisol composition to inhibit the occurrence of mold in shady locations.
